Is bigger better? Ah, No

When selecting a roofing contractor in Seattle, Bellevue or anywhere in our Emerald City, is bigger a better choice for roofing in seattle? No.

The size of the company does not matter. Provided they can:

1) Provide references.

2) Have at least 7+ years experience.

3) Are communicative and knowledgable.

5) Have a workforce that is stable and fully manufacturer certified installers.

5) Have integrity.

How do you know if they have integrity? Good Question. I recommend going with your intuition. If a contractor is hassling you to sign up “now” or “offer expires until”. That’s not the foundation of a good relationship.

A good relationship with a roofing contractor simply means that you feel they are open and honest and that you can work with them. Communication and Goodwill are essential in having a positive result.

What to expect on the first day….

Roofing in Seattle? A roof Repair? Replacement? Leak issues? what to expect when hiring a contractor?

After you have picked the roofer that you want to work with, now what?

Here is a list to help you be prepared:

1) Remove all objects from around the exterior of the home that could be damaged by falling materials (if your old roof is being torn off.) Planters, BBQ’s, Lawn ornaments (Ok, we can move the plastic pink Flamingos, no problem), Toys, Garden Gnomes, Dwarfs, Elves, etc.

2) Leave an access area so that the workers can access an outlet, preferable 220v. It is probable that they will need a power source for tools, etc.

3) Be sure to BE THERE on the first day, at least for an hour if re-roofing your home. This is an often overlooked aspect by many homeowners who don’t take into account that the Supervisor and workers may have a question or issue. The more present you are the better the communication!…and the better the result!

4) Ask questions, be sure that you feel comfortable with the workers. Its A-Ok to go over your concerns again with the staff, they should know what to do and any particulars, but a little redundancy can always give a good peace of mind.

Weather issues Roofing in Seattle..

When having roofing or a roof repair done in Seattle, Bellevue, Edmonds or anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, we are asked often about the weather, for roofing seattle.

Can you work in the rain?

The answer is both yes AND no. Yes, we can get your roof or roof repair done during the rainy season here, however certain phases of the roofing process we will need good weather for. Any experienced contractor with good references will know how to re-roof or repair your home in poor weather conditions.

Will it take a bit longer? If the weather is bad yes, typically add 1 day extra time to your project for every day it rains continuously.

Will it cost more? No, Roofing Specialists Northwest, unlike its competitors, uses flat rate pricing regardless of time of year. We simply proceed to complete your roof by replacing small sections at a time during bad weather periods.

Will my home be exposed to rain? Absolutely not. Roofing in Seattle, Bellevue or anywhere in our area requires that we ensure that your home stay protected through the entire project. We never leave anything open or exposed to the elements.

Selecting a Roofing Contractor is always a difficult decision to make. Unlike many products that we buy, services from a contractor are not something that you can walk around and “kick the tires” on before purchasing. We have to rely upon the credentials and references of the roofing contractor. Selecting a roofer that is experienced on the eastside, Bellevue roofing, is paramount to ensuring that the work you get will be done by professionals.

1) Always check references, and ask for “Drive By’s of similar homes that the roofing contractor has done in your area.

2) Look at the references homes, are they similar to yours?
